Magnetic Flux leakage (MFL)

The technique used Electromagnetic waves to detect the corrosion or pitting for Tank bottom and annular plates.

In the MFL testing device, a magnetic sensor is placed between the poles of a magnet yoke to record the leakage field by Hall-effect sensors.
Eddy current sensors integrated in the magnetic flux sensors are used to improve the differentiation between internal and external defects.
With MFL, suitable sensors are used to give an electrical signal at the leakage site.
This signal may operate an audible or visual alarm to alert the inspector, or may store the Event for computer mapping of the area.
The floor map inspection equipment utilizes magnetic flux leakage to detect top and bottom surface corrosion pitting.

Main benefits of MFL

APPLICATIONS

MFL is used to detect metal loss defects (such as corrosion) in a wide range of settings.
